I wanted the illustration to feel like there was an adventure going on, like we were on a hunt for something in the wilderness. Searching for something that we knew existed but had to be determined to find. We just had to follow its footsteps.

I started out sketching down multiple thumbnail sketches in one of my sketchbooks. After about 10 of them I felt like I had a few that would suit the idea the best and went on trying them out. I did this illustration in adobe illustrator, I usually do my illustrations in Procreate but felt like trying something else this time. To structure the layout I made a grid to plan out how much space and focus each part of the illustration would have to make sure it felt balanced with all the elements.
